A Message from Our Lead Pastor
People of all ages feel they’ve finally “come home” when they worship with us for the first time. We hope you will sense God’s presence and love during our worship time, and that you will also feel the warmth and friendliness that are characteristic of our Trinity church family.
The leadership of this church continues to be committed to building on the foundation that the believers of the first-century church followed: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayer…And the Lord was adding to the church daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:42, 47).
We have never sought to be a big church, but we are committed to being a strong church. We believe that if we focus on the quality, that is, building a strong and healthy church family, then God will take care of the quantity. If God’s people are taught, challenged and equipped properly, then they will want to reach others as well. That is exactly what happened in the early church.
We have also learned over the years that people will develop an appetite for what you feed them. If you build a church on programs, people will have a hunger for programs. If you build it on entertainment, people will have an appetite for entertainment. But if you build a church on the teaching of God’s Word, then people will have an appetite for God’s Word. For that reason, the Bible will always be the foundation and centerpiece of all we say and do at Trinity.
God continues to be faithful! According to His promise, Jesus is building His Church here on the hill. “Now glory be to God! By His mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. May He be given glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen” (Eph. 3:20-21, NLT).
Our desire is to see God grow people into passionate followers of Jesus Christ. By God’s grace, we see ourselves standing at the threshold of incredible opportunities to share God’s love in Christ with people near and far – people whom God loves and for whom our Lord Jesus gave His life on the cross. We invite you to share the journey and adventure with us, and we hope you will come worship with us!
In our Savior’s love,
Pastor Chuck Shillito
