“But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus… I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in His own time.” (I Timothy 6:11-15a)

JUDGES: Staying Faithful in an Unfaithful World
Throughout history, the Book of Judges has both encouraged and appalled its readers. Some are able to read it as stories of God’s faithfulness in the midst of utter darkness, while others mainly see the brutality and destruction caused by sin. Judges tells the story of Israel’s repeated unfaithfulness and God’s sovereign hand at work through it all. Each time God brings judgment upon His rebellious people, they repent, and then He delivers them by raising up a faithful judge. Yet, like clock-work (and much like us today), they fall again into the same sinful trap.
In spite of the apparent chaos, a study of Judges can be used by God to shape our understanding of our world and relationships. It has the truth that can lead us into a deeper appreciation of the way He works among His people in a sin-soaked culture. This book speaks powerfully to us about our God, sin, relationships, His justice, and His sovereignty.
Brother-to-Brother (B2B) is a weekly Men’s Bible Study that meets on Wednesdays, beginning January 23 at 6:30 p.m. Join us for dinner and fellowship, followed by worship led by our Men’s Ministry Worship Team, and messages from our B2B Bible teachers. This study also includes small group discussion and prayer, and concludes by 8:30 p.m. New attenders may register online or on the Plaza. Fall 2018 attenders do not need to re-register. Take this opportunity to invite a friend or family member to join us!
