Biblical Counseling

Purpose

At Trinity Community Church, we recognize there are times of hardship, trials, conflict, and suffering that take place in people’s lives. Our desire is to come alongside you to listen, love, and offer hope by using a type of counseling referred to as “biblical counseling.” We seek to build strong relationships and help people apply the gospel in ways that give direction using the Christ-centered view of life found in the Scriptures. We employ a pastoral care model versus a clinical model which fosters a careful gathering and handling of personal information for biblical interpretation.

FAQ’s

What is the goal of biblical counseling?
We seek to help a person who is struggling to apply the principles in God’s Word in such a way that the person responds in an obedient and godly manner to the problems they are facing. The goal is not just to help the individual change their behavior, but to encourage and support the individual so that they might grow in their maturity as Christians and in their likeness to the image of Christ Jesus.

Are counselors licensed by the state?
No. Our counselors are trained to use the Scripture in counseling settings.

Are sessions confidential?
We respect your privacy. Everything discussed in counseling or captured on your application will be held in the strictest confidence, except where there is a clear biblical requirement for us to help you by involving others.

How much does it cost?
Trinity offers the counseling ministry free of charge. No money should be paid to the church or counselor. Donations are accepted for any materials purchased or used in the session.

Do you have to be a member of Trinity?
No, but due to our limited staff, priority resources will be given to the ones who are members, though others are encouraged to seek counseling also.
